On June 8, 9 & 10, 2012, Akron, Ohio the Birthplace of AA will be holding it's yearly festivities to the "other" co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous, Dr. Bob in their 77th annual Founders Day celebration. Pre-registration can be done here:

The year 2012 may be a little different than 2011 due to the closing of the "Arid Club" because it couldn't make enough money on the over $1 million dollars it made on bingo sales. Gamblers Anonymous is available for the still suffering Alcoholics Anonymous members and the loss of the gambling enabling Arid Club.

The yearly pilgrimage to the grave of Dr. bob in Mount Peace Cemetery on Aqueduct Street will still happen, along with the people bussed into the cemetery and the loud Harley's disturbing the local residents at 6 am:

Please do not forget to visit Dr. Bob's home on a residential street with limited parking at 855 Ardmore Ave. and walk up the 12 Steps leading to the house. You may want to go to the bathroom before getting there because even though the bathrooms have been upgraded to handle the traffic, they are still residential toilets.

While in Akron, Ohio you may want to pick up the classical toy "Paddle Ball" which Dr. Bob modified to beat Spirituality into his kids with. You want to find one that is 1/2" thick and you will have to modify it yourself.

You can't be Anonymous in AA on June 8, 9 & 10, 2012
Due to security reasons, all AA members at the 77th Anniversary of Alcoholics Anonymous in Akron, Ohio must wear a NAME TAG and a RIBBON for any and all meetings!
NAME BADGES AND RIBBONS MUST BE WORN FOR ADMITTANCE TO ALL MEETINGS - NO EXCEPTIONS!

I think the Anonymity Clause of AA just got shot down, BIG TIME...........
"Tradition 10 - Alcoholics Anonymous has no opinion on outside issues; hence the AA name ought never be drawn into public controversy." Please follow orders from the Interchurch Center if you are an AA member and don't comment.
