The Case for Lying to Yourself: Lying to yourself—or self-deception, as psychologists call it—can actually have benefits. And nearly everybody does it, based on a growing body of research using new experimental techniques. Self-deception isn't just lying or faking, but is deeper and more complicated, says Del Paulhus, psychology professor at University of British Columbia and author of a widely used scale to measure self-deceptive tendencies. It involves strong psychological forces that keep us from acknowledging a threatening truth about ourselves, he says.

Lying to yourself that AA is not getting dangerous is a problem
Lying to yourself that AA is not getting dangerous is a problem also. Despite the numerous real time stories and the stories of problems discovered in media archives Alcoholics Anonymous members lie to themselves constantly about the dangers evolving in AA. Using the usual AA loophole tactics of,"it doesn't happen in my group", "find another meeting" and "it's Spiritual, not Religious" the congregations of Bill Wilson chanters are being filled with the inbreeding of criminals recruited from jails and prisons.
The process is simple to understand, you make a pseudo religion that is helped by the struggling US Judicial system to empty its jails and prisons to the community control of Alcoholics Anonymous and lie to yourself and everyone you meet that this is not what is happening in AA. Hold missionary prospect hunting missions called "Correction Committees" to go on canned hunts to jails and prisons and the prisoners start to realize they can use a "Bill Wilson gt out of jail free card" where they just have to spout slogans and prospect hunt new members for the cult. Being released to the community control of the cults of Bill Wilson in residential areas, the criminals only main prospect hunting pool is the criminal element thereby filling the rituals and ceremonies to Bill Wilson with even more criminals and is acting as a snowball at this time picking up more and more criminals. The problem is, as that snowball gets bigger and bigger, eventually it hits a wall and all of the criminals will be scattered all over the general area.
"Tradition 10 - Alcoholics Anonymous has no opinion on outside issues; hence the AA name ought never be drawn into public controversy." Please follow orders from the Interchurch Center if you are an AA member and don't comment.

"Getting dangerous"? I
"Getting dangerous"? I understood you to insist that AA was dangerous since its inception. Which is it?

OPF Judge says: Get Real.
Let's see.
AA says god will perform a miracle for the dutiful AA'er and "cure" the "disease" of drinking copious amounts of alcohol.
AA says the AA'er can pick any higher power the AA'er wants, it don't matter. The self-selected higher power (a sub-mariner) will perform a miracle and keep the true-believing AA'er sober & clean.
By AA account, there must be some 1,500,000 higher powers out there in the USA alone.
Get real judge bucket? Who needs a dose a reality here you mofo stepper?

AA says some things that I
AA says some things that I don't particularly endorse. What's your point?
What's it to you if there are 1,500,000 higher powers out there? The only one that counts is the one you're working with. And if you have none, nor do you subscribe to the idea of a higher power, that's fine; what's not fine is judging others for living their own lives the way they prefer instead of the way you would prefer they live them.
Why is it necessary to call me a "mofo", as in motherfucker? Are you now going to deny that "mofo" means "motherfucker"? Tell me, please, how a woman can be a MOTHERFUCKER. I'm breathlessly awaiting your description which will never come because you don't have the balls to go into it.

I am free to judge as I see fit judge
And I judge AA/12 steps to be a cult that has a tendency to kill people. And that is NOT ok. It is time for AA to be held accountable for the actions of some in the roomz. It is the correct action to be taken by such a altruistic organization, don't ya think judge?
