Whats the meaning of the triangle necklace? - From Yahoo Answers

Whats the meaning of the triangle necklace?
I've seen a lot of celebrities and various strangers wearing a necklace with a triangle on it. I tried to look up the meaning and got a variety of responses from: gay pride, satanism, holy trinity and alcoholics anonymous. I am so confused.

Does anyone know the meaning? What do you think?

The Circle and Triangle symbol was popularized by the adulterous Bill Wilson to protect his mistress Helen Wynn by clouding her in the secret and anonymous rooms of Alcoholics Anonymous (AA). Adulterous husbands and wives looking for a new spouse flock to the rooms of AA where they attempt to become sponsors of other cult members they are sexually interested in and have them tell all of their secrets. The gateway cult of Al-Anon is recommended where the spouse is told to disassociate from the adulterous significant other and give them as much of a chance to perform the 4th and 5th Step rituals in private places. If you want to cheat on your spouse or significant other and be protected from detection look for the circle and triangle logo and introduce yourself. They will surely tell you to "Keep Coming Back", because "It works if you work it!"

"Tradition 10 - Alcoholics Anonymous has no opinion on outside issues; hence the AA name ought never be drawn into public controversy." Please follow orders from the Interchurch Center if you are an AA member and don't comment.

as a bumpersticker or whatever, I know its code for "I'm a member of the cult...are you? If so...let me know so we can collaborate and network to continue CULT-ivating our cause throughout the world!!

So when you see it....get out your X-AA cross....and hold it up...PROTECT YOURSELF AND YOUR LOVED ONES from the CULT!!

They looked at suing people for breeching copyright but decided against it. In the course of discussions it was decided that no AA lawsuits should be taken out without the approval of the General Conference(they had done this on this lawsuit...lol). They promptly ignored this decision on the Mexican & German lawsuits. When you've got no identifiable head, anyone can do as they please, so it seems.

So much for this notion that you can sue them because they have so many assets and they settle quickly and quietly. I don't think they care much about recovery jewelry or motorcycle vest patches.

And yet again the whole point goes completely over Clara's head. When you fell out of the stupid tree, you hit every branch on the way down Clara...lol

I choose to look at things differently than you, Conan. Is it a "stupid tree" or a gratitude tree?

Thank you for your help in getting some things cleared up! I appreciate it! Avo was right. There is a side to your personality that is much nicer than your CoBen side, and I always knew it existed.

I call it misunderstanding because of basic stupidity. Do you want to put it to a poll?...lol

It's called perspective, Conan. You probably also see a glass as half empty.

Reading something and misunderstanding it is not perspective, it's stupidity. Jesus - you can't even see that half the things you write yourself don't make sense. You're a figure of fun Clara. Too stupid to take seriously. Irrelevant...lol

Reading something and not understanding it could be ignorance or semantics.
I respect Clara because I have never seen her insult or be rude to anyone on the forum.
Do you guys have any examples of Clara being rude or vulgar?

causeandeffect's picture

Yes, disclosure, there are many, many instances of that. Those of us who spend more time here are painfully aware of her nastiness. She's actually the worst of the trolls, constantly sniping at people. What's worse is she snipes at people who are struggling, and even those who are having suicidal ideations. She's even more rude and nasty than becket sometimes.

C&E, I will respond because we know Clara has to much self respect to bother with a hateful person like you. You will never convince the members on this site that Clara is anything like you. Your own brethren know this.

Clara's picture

I am not sure of that, C&E. I would tend to think that people spending time here are aware of the constant efforts to bring someone down but that actually help her to repair. That I can make lemonade from your attempts to lob lemons is pretty good, I'd say. That hasn't been me running riot over the net to find things out about a woman you claim is nasty, the worst of the trolls, or that snipes at people having suicidal indeations. Who could that be, C&E? If you are referring to Ironic, you should review the thread once more to keep from looking idiot.

Share one, causeandeffect. Share one instance of Clara being "nasty" and tell the forum how it pained you.

Conan, if I may suggest this... Disclosure apparently received benefits from disclosing she was part of the fellowship via her necklace. So what if she did? Did she capitalize on it? Perhaps and, again, so what? There are people in AA that solely deal with fellowship people. I routinely worked with people in the fellowship from anything from repairs on my rentals to massage.

Aside to just want to try to instult someone, why not try to see it from another perspective?

The thread was about the meaning of the symbol. I posted info about a court case that you failed to understand and went off on your usual tangent talking about suing AA. It was nothing to do with that. Now your trying to derail further by talking about what people get from it. Have you had an accident that involved head injuries? You don't seem to be able to stay on one stream of thought for more than a few seconds. The reason I'm pointing it out and will continue to point it out is that we are all really pissed off with your constant derailing. It's going to be highlighted and ridiculed...lol

Clara's picture

How can you possibly be pissed off about something that brings you so much joy and enertainment?

Yes, you did reference a legal case. It wasn't worth their while to sue over recovery jewlery. I referred to that. You must have been in such haste to pound out a response that you missed it...

What I was pointing to here Patti's references to how quick it is to make easy money from AA by suing them because they settle quickly and quietly to avoid any undue publicity. All her posts here were over the same thing for a long time. Those cases should have shown her why I doubted that AA settled much of easily, quickly, quietly.

How am I derailing, Ben? Disclosure is the one that posted that post about the benefits derived from wearing recovery jewelry.

Remember Christopher Stevens when you vote.

Conan's picture

You say " It wasn't worth their while to sue over recovery jewlery.". When was that decision made, and by who? Certainly not by General Conference who are meant to make these decisions. The way you say it is a classic bit of minimalisation and denial. Like it was a trivial little decision of no consequence. Let's look at the facts :-

"It was after some $180,000 spent on legal fees, and it became apparent that AAWS was going to lose the lawsuit, AAWS agreed with the defendants in this case to allow the circle and triangle to enter the public domain."

Remember, that was 1980 $$$. They would have sued if it wasn't sure they would lose. They didn't decide it wasn't worth it. Lying by deception there Clara.

Patti referencing people suing AA is totally irrelevant to this thread. This is about the circle and triangle symbol and how it affected AA. You do this every time. It's real push-button stepper mentality. They hear a word of phrase and off they go with spouting slogans and such. Completely meaningless - just to keep talking and deflecting from original points. "Four legs good, two legs bad"

Danny is currently "Rachel" - watch out folks, he's learned how to use a spell checker...lol

Clara's picture

Knock off, Ben. I just thought it was funny that anti always jump to the "call the police" button or "let's sue and get lots of money" when it doesn't look like it has evern been the simple process described.

What I have understood is that AA dropped the triangle/circle symbol a while ago for a number of reasons. Perhaps instead of thinking it was an issue, another symbol (but with less brand equity) was adopted. If they weren't sure they'd win... well, AA wouldn't be the first to not be willing to take that chance.

Remember Christopher Stevens when you vote.

Conan's picture

No-one is that stupid, surely.

" If they weren't sure they'd win... well, AA wouldn't be the first to not be willing to take that chance."

What was actually said was "..., and it became apparent that AAWS was going to lose the lawsuit,..."

Can you see the difference? Denial Clara? seems like you're suffering bad...lol

Hey, flabs, the thread is about the circle triangle symbol. You people are the ones who superimposed the importance of the symbol to AA. Now THAT'S some clever derailing. I would expect nothing less of you in Manipulation, Management and Marketing.

No, second hand from prospects made to hit bottom by the cult of Alcoholics Anonymous. The covens of AA love to swoop on the assets that are left over from the people they terrorize. I do have to wonder what the covens of AA are trying to weasel out of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. after they taught him to disassociate from his wife Mary and made her hit bottom. I am sure the evangelists from the Stepping Stones compound are right on it.

I guess you missed the porn, cigars, and guns.

Clara's picture

Why, women can't be into those, too? Besides, I've been known to take people up on offers of fine cigars to gift other people. No interest in the porn, though... I see alot on that list I could use...

I had a really good day. I took my daughter out for breakfast, did some grocery shopping, called some friends then I went to the beach and had a great time with my family. Then had a wonderful meal with my husband. How are filling your day? It's hard being a busy bee aint it? Makes you wonder how we can even spend a moment being on here.....

LisaMarie's picture

Riiiight, you wish your life was that amazing....lamo!!!

That's exactly what I have done today. Wow didn't see it as amazing just saw it as just having a normal day. But thinking about it Danny it is amazing. I left AA 5 years ago and have never been happier and healthier. Thanks for that Danny, for making me see just how amazing my life is.

LisaMarie's picture

Not necessary.

If I'm not there (invisible) why take 5 minutes to write me that wonderful post????

Totally bonkers....

Awww, but I was going to reply to THIS comment that was here before:

"Vicky, you didn't leave AA and the negative experience you had. You just substituted your allegiance and became a member of a real cult, RFR.
You have shown us here that you will do whatever they tell you to do. You were told by the hierarchy of your site to protest and antagonize Clara, call me Danny no matter what, use your filthy mouth over here and try to antagonize becket but if you felt you didn't have enough intelligence to just leave her alone. We have all witnessed what a dumbass you are so you have left becket alone.
Vicky you are like a table ornament, for us here. We see you and you were once discussed but now, you are just there on the table. Nothing more needs to said.
Oh, no I don't believe you did anything you shared about your day. Who comes on a site and brags about there day no a bunch of people they don't even know. A liar with a low self esteem does.
Don't worry RFR will fix you right up."

This was taken down you idiot because of Clara's post about her family tragic incident. i didn't feel it was appropriate within this conversation.
As usual since you have no heart, you also lack empathy. marietta was right about you on so many levels. She definitely had you in check.

Good for you, Vicky. I spent the better part of my day calling a mortuary to see if I could contribute toward my second cousin's daughter's funeral tomorrow. She was 16 months old and drowned in a pool at the babysitter's home.

Glad that you remarried and that your daughter now has a better example of how wonderful men can be.
