Let's Argue About Step 3 (or, AA's SOP is to find god)

From it's very inception, Alcoholics Anonymous was designed to circumvent the religious aspects of the cult and the establishment clause of the US constitution. AA cult members love to debate this argument because it deflects the feeling that you are in a religious cult into a circular argument and makes you succumb to the brainwashing. The very famous Mother's Day May 12, 1935 discussion between Bill Wilson and Dr. Bob at the Gate Lodge home of Henrietta Seiberling has turned into a propaganda piece for the cult on how to talk people into believing it's Spiritual, not Religious and god has nothing to do with it. Every 12 Step councilor has a canned speech in their own "Book of Shadows" to combat the inevitable question about Spirituality and Religion as can be witnessed by this one from our favorite 12 Step councilor "Bill."

WHO/WHAT "made a decision" (not clear!), and this "God as "we" (ah, there they are-the CULT/GROUPTHINK!) understood him", is clearly not a part of the present! So, its about something that occurred BEFORE someone who read those words were aware of it! This makes the whole "step" IRRELEVENT, since it is clearly NOT "present based". Its about what allegedly ALREADY OCCURRED, not what is occurring, or will occur! Now if there was an explanation as to this "who/what made a decision"! NEXT!

1st.the Thai "treatment Wat is medieval medicine.Puke and excrete.They give the newbies purgatives to vomit and exlax to clean out,for about the first week.As an adversion therapy."damn I don't want to evr want to do that again,maybe it works.And lots of Buddhist chanting.Alcohol and drug rehab here is in infancy.And AA is stepping into a void.Their"outreach "is beginning and whatevr.It's something vs nothing.With a Buddhist spin.
Someone asked have you ever challenged AA during a meeting.Dual responses.some liked what I said and I have unexpected respect for speaking out.Others ,you need to shut up now.1 Meeting ended 20 minutes early.Last heard he was in hospital for drugs and alcohol breakdown.Others foul-mouthed.others"You should stop coming to meetins if you refuse to worship the Group of dishonest,diseased,demonic, demented drunks,deviates,druggies. Bait and switch AA god.Not the God.a god.Anyways.for about 40 years with Prem/Sant ji/ Maharaji I've tried to surrender to what I know to be
god.The one who lives inside of my heart. I guess that everone alive has energy inside.Check out George Carlin and Hill the Big Electron.Anyways,I've had moments of complete surrender.Fantastic.but only seen my teacher having "Complete Surrender."The idiotcy that some 30 second prayer will allow complete surrender".No way Hose.have you read how throughout history; Saints have given their entire lives to acheive surrender,With Joy/love in their hearts. Step 11 prayer from some nutcase who truly believed that only through suffering,suffer/suffer/suffer.wear a hair shirt.put ashes or dirt on your food-yeah then you will what??When you are DEAD,DEAD,DEAD then you wil be soo happy.I say dead 3 times because in the old west when a judge pronounced sentence he repeated Hanged by the neck until you are DEAD,DEAD,DEAD .three times.It seems there was one outlaw who had to be hanged 3 times.1st fake hanging.Arhh,arhh.But collar under his shirt.2nd time-fake hanging.
Arrh, arrhh kicking and dieing so realisticly.But the 3rd time the Judge himself made sure and put the rope around the outlaws neck himself.just to be sure that he was really dead.
Sandy B,damn girl but you've got courage.Take his threats very seriously.Do the world a favour.Keep a shotgun near the door and an old style Colt.45 in your vehicle.9's only wound.Had a guy shot 6 times with a 9.took long time for him to die.Now the local cops carry ,45's.There is a sweet double 4/10 sawed off target shotgun.with slugs.it's more than 50 cal.AND SMALL RECOIL.So much effort I 've seen today.
I will get a subscription to Psychology today.the articles are real science.So many of you making incredible effort to warn the public about the dangers of AA.After 1 more visit to the group where I've been personally attacked for doing only steps1,2,3 I will change groups.I feel they are dangerous.Hell I go armed to meetings,preparedto fight my way out or after.something is telling me,it is not a safe place to share and there are 3 other groups . I not we I.I quit drinking.#2 I see a psychiatrist[and I may say a damned fine one] #3.I try,try being the key word.Okay?Try to practise the 4 techniques for experiencing ,directly,
my own soul/the energy inside of me.To me everyone should understand.God is inside of YOU.Not outside but inside.That is why when you have these feelings that something is wrong,wrong,wrong listen.your heart is telling you something that your mind hasn't recognized.Gaving de Becker has 2 good reads.The Gift of Fear and Protecting the Gift.Always he says.Trust your intuition,it will know.Always there is a "precede signal".Your subconscious[if you don't like the word spirit]sees at 200,000 bites per/second.It processes faster than the conscious mind can.What is my expertise? I joined the Army at 17.I had 3 choices.Mental hospital,for killing,jail for killing or hey kid we've been looking for you.The U.S.Army wants you.NOW.Free clothes,food,guns and ammo.And not only did I not go to jail.I got paid for killing in a socially acceptable fashion.for hell 20 years of military time and training.Yes.I do know the difference between the UCMJ and bs.Between 2m/47th,9th infantry Bravo Company and I was wid dtuuh1st of the 55th airtorn inf.We ask 2 questions.Who were you with? Where were you? And we know.Real or bs.I don't dinstinguish between special ops and line infantry but.damn those Beanies were some real badasses.I saw 23 firefights and feel like I was a bitch.Those guys like the "walking dead."1st of the 5th marines, I corps ,saw daily combat.with 95% casualty.I started drinking after Vietnam.Not Nam.Vietnam.Sometimes I realize how lucky I am to be alive.Mostly,I'm just like everyone.I bitch and complain.but when I remember.I am so thankful that I AM ALIVE.Enough about me.Enjoyed reading the warnings and the effort that some of you have made to create this forum.hats off ladies and gentle ment.Sandy B.hope that I meet you some day.if you choose.
