The OP Forum is over a year old and we missed the birthday

Maybe a good time to do a Forum Inventory?...lol

What's good? What's not so good? How has it been in the first year?

It seems to be getting stronger every month. What's it going to be like in another year?

Old habits really - can't let a birthday go by without a party...lol

One of the very first....... (Can't help but show off to the newbies, maybe we should make a no talk or share rule for a minimum of 90 days...........)

I remember it starting and joined and then for some reason I got deleated along the way. It's good to be back here again, there are some decent people from around the world.

"Another Reason Why I Don't Keep A Gun In The House" "The neighbors' dog will not stop barking. He is barking the same high, rhythmic bark that he barks every time they leave the house. They must switch him on on their way out. "The neighbors' dog will not stop barking. I close all the windows in the house and put on a Beethoven symphony full blast but I can still hear him muffled under the music, barking, barking, barking, "and now I can see him sitting in the orchestra, his head raised confidently as if Beethoven had included a part for barking dog. "When the record finally ends he is still barking, sitting there in the oboe section barking, his eyes fixed on the conductor who is entreating him with his baton "while the other musicians listen in respectful silence to the famous barking dog solo, that endless coda that first established Beethoven as an innovative genius. I received an e-mail from Gerald J Brown of the Baldwin Research Institute. The $20 million defamation lawsuit against AAWS was dismissed years ago by the Judge right after he admitted he was an AA member. Baldwin chose not to appeal this decision, apparently due to lack of resources. The information above was supplied to me by Mr Brown. And so it goes.

Thanks for getting back with that info flannigan. You're a man of your word...lol. That'll give Marietta something to come back on...lol

solid handshake to you my friend. Thankyou.

Geez, it's been a year? How time flies. It doesn't seem that long. Oh well, so it goes.
alkieanon's picture

Sounds like sour grapes. Would be interesting to actually see a copy of the original lawsuit (nudge, nudge, wink, wink) to really know if it was a defamation claim. And a copy of the ruling to really know the reason of the dismissal. The information (second hand) was supplied, but there is no documentation (proof). And so it goes.

I suggest that you contact Gerald J Brown of the Baldwin Research Institute directly for the documentation and proof you seem to want. I reported what was told to me by Mr Brown; if you require more information, contact him yourself.

I was wondering about that case. I wish I knew more about the case, and was counting on Pennywise to wade through that boatload of legalese, but since he's not going to... ; )

Just for grins, tried to figure out who are (or were) the "first 100" of OPF. There appears to be no number 1 (possibly the blog administrator account) and Orange is number 2. So now the survey population is 101. Lots of blank spots (OPF kills people? LOL!) to start with. Excluding the people who haven't posted in a long time (relapse?) and excluding the people who only recently started posting again (missed the meeting?), the survey says: 6% of the first 100 are still here on OPF. Of course, this is an unscientific survey using extracted data from OPF. Orange has access to the raw data and can either confirm or deny this survey.
becket's picture

Did the rest relapse? Did Bill Wilson kill them? Gee, 6% isn't very impressive . . . is that including the wrenches like me mucking it up, or did I come late to the party? Thanks for the head count! "OFP kills people." Priceless.

First off, this is not a "meeting" so your analogy is seriously flawed. Second we have no "weird rituals"in church basements. Thirdly we don't piss in the neighbors bushes or bring down housing values. Fourth, attendance is not mandated by the court system. And so on......

6% 0f 100 is 6. I have seen upwards of 15 people at a time on this forum which would make 15% and not all of the members were present. Please go back and get your GED.

Gee, what if you could convince the judges across the country to come to the Orange Papers Forum in lieu of attending those awful AA meetings? I wonder how many crackpots and goofballs you'd get, or even better how many murderers, pedophiles and con-men you'd have to deal with!

Math is so gosh darn hard. Maybe the six percent of the 100 ORIGINAL members are still here. There must be some sort of hierarchy of OrangeCool.

Registering for an account does mean allegiance. Also there were many SPAM trolls for virgra, etc... that have been banned. You have Danny B coming back numerous times. You do not have to post to read, so people don't have to login to see the site. The entire idea is flawed, logging into the site does not mean you are the only ones looking.

You mean like the liars of AA did with their program of attraction, not promotion? You got it right though, AA is a dangerous place because of the promotion they did to judges across the country to send criminals to the rooms.

You didn't think of it. It must be flawed. It must be. Well . . . what does logging in have to do with anything? Please explain the mechanics of this information-gathering - you are such an expert at this.

Or do you have a more sinister explanation, I haven't been to a meeting in 22 years becket?

Dunno, JR. I have a screen cap of a viagra ad post from here that I still consider one of the best bits of word salad I've ever seen. I know that account had to be banned and all, but I could do with some more talk of "multifarious gink".

WTF? I missed collecting my OPF 9 month chip! I haven't posted regularly because? a) I was studying for my fake master's degree. b) Accepting my make believe Grammy. c) 13 stepping my underage female sponcees. d) I was on a call to a 2 alarm fire. e) I am currently earning my GED. I just haven't got around to the math unit yet. f) Riding a motorcycle across the country. g) Busy writing 16th century prose. h) I relapsed into a 6 beer binge! Dig Deeper...duh!
Go ahead, enjoy yourselves - it's getting late, much later than you think.

Thanks for your site! It is because I read the hell out of it, and some books you recommended, that I unhooked myself by using the Rational Recovery book. THANKS A MILLION FOR LISTING BOOKS AND ALTERNATIVES TO THE 12-STEP MURDER INDUSTRY!!! I have to give you cred' for helping me save my own ass! I hope I can get to Oregon some day to shake your hand, if that's okay with you! Rock on, brother. May you have good health and long life!!! You are definitely one of my heroes! Sincerely, Teatotaler
